On YABLOKO’s claim, the Federal Anti-Monopoly Service conducted an investigation and found out that the Moscow State Department of Education violated the anti-monopoly legislation by ordering schools to buy textbooks published by the Prosveshcheniye Publishing House. The Ministry of Economic Development has made its official forecast: Russian economy will not grow in the next 20 years, and until 2036 the country will be in stagnation. What does it mean? Read more »
Proceeding from the forecast of the development of the Russian economy until 2035 published by the Ministry of Economic Development, the economy will be struggling to overcome the stagnation of the next 20 years, but it will not succeed. This forecast was publish by the Vedomosti newspaper today. Coming out of the recession in 2017, the economy will grow very slowly in the next 20 years by 2 per cent per year on the average (from 1.7 per cent to the maximum of 2.6 per cent). This is about 1.5 times less than the world average rates: thus, Russia will be moving closer towards the poorest countries. Read more »

The election to Russia’s State Duma took place a month ago.
We heartily thank everyone who supported us, who came to the polling station on September 18 and voted for an alternative to the policy of the government – a meaningful, real, sensible alternative. We express our special gratitude to those who tried to reach out to our fellow citizens in rainy and windy weather, who delivered newspapers and leaflets, persuaded their friends, acquaintances and strangers [to voter for us], who spent the whole night at a polling station observing the ballot count. On October 13, the Gender faction of YABLOKO and the Zhurnalistka (Woman Journalist) club of the Union of Journalists of Russia conducted a round table on “Baby boxes and abortions. Demography and ethics”. The discussion took place after a number of Russia’s officials proposed to ban baby boxes and abortions.
The Russian society has been steadily taught to get accustomed to the idea of proximity and inevitability of a new war. Preparation for the war has been boosted at all levels in the past days. Read more »

Boris Vishnevsky, head of the YABLOKO faction in the St. Petersburg parliament, will not be member of the new composition of the Land Use and Development Commission.
