YABLOKO candidates to municipal deputies to sign YABLOKO’s Moscow Manifesto 2017
Press Release, 30.05.2017
Candidates for Moscow municipal deputies wishing to run from the YABLOKO party must sign the Moscow Manifesto 2017 prepared by the party. By signing the document, the candidates confirm their adherence to democratic values and undertake to work for a significant expansion of the powers of local self-government in Moscow.
The Manifesto represents a political programme for YABLOKO’s candidates for municipal deputies. The signatories of the Manifesto undertake, in particular, to ensure that tax revenues provide for financial independence of local budgets.
The Manifesto also runs that the political stance of YABLOKO candidates for municipal deputies bases on the Party’s programme and the Memorandum of Political Alternative. In case of their election, the deputies undertake to strive for their implementation in practice.
YABLOKO’s municipal campaign started in mid-May. Party leaders Grigory Yavlinsky, Emilia Slabunova and Sergei Mitrokhin appealed to the Muscovites calling all the democratically minded people to run from YABLOKO. The headquarters of the municipal campaign are headed by Elena Rusakova, organiser of mass-scale rallies against the Mayor’s “renovation” programme on May 14 and 28.
