Liberals debated Ukraine crisis at LI Congress

YABLOKO leader Sergei Mitrokhin participated in the Liberal International 59th Congress. He presented YABLOKO’s view on how to settle the situation around Ukraine.
The Congress adopted the resolution WorldToday which raises the most urgent issues debated in different regions of the world. As regards Russia, the congress called the Russian authorities to ease pressure on the opposition and civil activists, stop reprisals, release YABLOKO activists Maxim Petlin and Evnegy Vitishko from prison, stop persecutions agianst Suren Gazaryan and civil activist Prof. Savva, finaly investigate murders of journalists, YABLOKO activists and human rights defenders YABLOKO’s activists and joustnalists Larissa Yudina, Yuri Schekochikhin, head of dagestani YABLOKO Farid Babayev, journalist Anna Politkovskaya and human rights activists Natalia Estemirova.
The Congress elected new Bureau and a new president Dr. Juli Minoves Triquell (from Andorran member party).
