Yabloko Youth reminds Stavropol residents of the International Women’s Day history

On March 8th, Yabloko Youth reminded the residents of Stavropol, South Russia, of the International Women’s Day history.
“Do I want flowers if my hands are tied?”
“We conducted a makeshift action where women could communicated with the passersby only via inscription and explanatory tablets since few people hear and listen to women and respect their rights nowadays,” Kirill Bobro, leader of the Stavropol branch of YABLOKO, said.
The participants of the action Anastasia Antonets, Daria Skiba, Victoria Veter and Tatyana Glinberg put on the attire of the past epoch.
“We did it in order to prove that feminism is not fashion but it walks along with us for years. We remember how it started and who stood at its origins. We know that our freedom is precious and at what price it was achieved. We must not forget how much time, hard work and effort was made to fight oppression,” Bobro said.
The participants of the action also handed out leaflets about the history of the International Women’s Day and feminism.
