Yabloko leader to visit Nizhny Novgorod

Nikolai Rybakov, Chairman of the Yabloko party, will visit Nizhny Novgorod on 26 August within the framework of his election tour around the country. During the visit, Rybakov will assess the restoration works of the historic centre of the city, as well as the quality of the urban improvement works timed to coincide with the 800th anniversary of Nizhny Novgorod. In addition, the party leader will hold meetings with the board of trustees of the Switzerland Park and the organisers of the “Tom Sawyer Fest” project for the restoration of the historical buildings of the city by the citizens.
Nikolai Rybakov will also visit the memorial to the journalist Irina Slavina who committed a self-immolation act protesting against curbing of the freedom of speech and police pressure, after that Rybakov will hold a charity picket to raise funds for the monument to Humanity, Kindness and Compassion, which is planned to be opened in Nizhny Novgorod in memory of killed dogs.
