Yabloko Chair to visit Veliky Novgorod
Emilia Slabunova to meet the staff of the music college that is being evicted from its premises and make a speech at a rally against closing the hospital in Shimsk

Yabloko Chair Emilia Slabunova will arrive in Veliky Novgorod for a two days business trip.
On 25th January Yabloko Chair will have a meeting with students of a local music college and their parents. They are protesting against the eviction of the college from the premises that have been using since 1959. The staff of the college is concerned that some musical instruments are too fragile to be transported. What is more, their new premises is not suitable for a college – it is smaller and it is not soundproof.
On 26th January, Emilia Slabunova will make a speech at a rally in support of people’s constitutional rights. The participants of the demonstration will protest agains the decision to close the local hospital.
Anna Cherepanova, Chair of the regional party branch, believes that the closure of the department will affect 12,000 people who live in the district. This decision constricts the declared policy of the government to improve life expectance and decrease the mortality rate.
The politician appealed to Deputy Prime Minister Tatiana Golikova and Governor of the Novgorod Region Andrei Nikitin demanding that they renew the work of the twenty-four-hour in-patient department
Emilia Slabunova joined the protest. She applied to Healthcare Minister Veronica Skvortsova and Governor Andrei Nikitin as well as regional Healthcare Minister Antonina Svaluk demanding that they alter the decision to close the hospital.
