An attempt of a judicial reprisal against programmer Dmitry Ugai is the result of a crack-down on the freedom of conscience in Russia
The St. Petersburg branch of YABLOKO released a statement in connection with the detention of programmer Dmitry Ugai, who made a lecture about yoga at a health festival in St. Petersburg. YABLOKO claims that the legal action against Dmitry Ugai violates the Constitution of the Russian Federation, international obligations of Russia and represents a classical example of police abuse.
According to YABLOKO, the adoption of the infamous Yarovaya Law served as the ground for this lawlessness.
The regional branch of the party claims that the criminal charges against Dmitry Ugai must be dropped and the police officers, who are involved in unlawful actions against the programmer, must be brought to responsibility.
