Today, 18 July, the Kaliningrad Region Electoral Commission certified Yabloko’s candidate list for the regional Legislative Assembly. It should be noted that the list comprises 36 candidates put forward as part of 11 regional groups, with a further three candidates nominated in single-mandate constituencies.

Certification of the list is the second stage, after nomination, on the party’s candidates’ path to polling day. Ahead lies the Electoral Commission’s review of all documents and its decision on registration.

It should be noted that the candidate lists for regional parliaments, including that of the Kaliningrad Region, were put forward at Yabloko’s Congress at the end of June.

The region-wide part of Yabloko’s candidate list is headed by:

IVAN BOLSHAKOV, 41, political scientist, Head of the party’s Analytical Centre, member of Yabloko’s Federal Political Committee, the party’s representative on the Central Electoral Commission of Russia; Deputy Chairman of Yabloko from 2019 to 2023;

ROMAN MOROZOV, 50, lawyer, member of the Kaliningrad Region Bar Chamber and member of the Bureau of Kaliningrad Yabloko;

ANTON GENDRIKSON, 48, entrepreneur and public figure in the Kaliningrad Region.

The candidates heading the party’s regional list submitted their documents to the Kaliningrad Region Electoral Commission in person on 15 July. On Saturday, 18 July, in addition to certifying Yabloko’s candidate list, the Electoral Commission also granted the party permission to open a special election account. This will allow the party to begin its campaign.
