Lev Shlosberg fined 32,000 roubles for posting a video with the protest action of Marina Ovsyannikova on Channel One

Lev Shlosberg, Chairman of the Pskov branch of Yabloko and a member of the Yabloko Federal Political Committee, and his wife Zhanna were fined 32,000 and 30,000 roubles, respectively, for “discrediting the armed forces of the Russian Federation”. This decision was made today by the Pskov City Court.
The court considered that Lev Shlosberg was “discrediting the armed forces” as on 15 March he published on VKontakte social network a five-second video with Marina Ovsyannikova’s protest action on Channel One and his commentary on it. Zhanna Shlosberg “discredited” the Russian army by posting on 24 February a photo where she was wearing an embroidered shirt, the Ukrainian national wreath, and holding a sheet of paper with the words “No ** ***” written on it. Zhanna’s commentary that it is impossible to resolve conflicts by force in the 21st century were also attached to the case.
“Today the court considered two protocols on administrative offenses drawn up against Zhanna and me on 14 April, and found us guilty with a time difference of five minutes,” Lev Shlosberg said. He also noted that they would appeal against the decisions of the court.
Earlier, five members of Yabloko were brought to administrative responsibility under this article. Yaroslav Revenko from Taganrog was fined 60,000 roubles, Valentin Grushevsky from Kemerovo was fined 35,000 roubles, Alexander Goncharenko from Barnaul, Anatoly Nogovitsyn from Yakutsk and Vladimir Dorokhov from Tula were fined 30,000 roubles each. On 17 April, the police drew up a protocol of an offence under the article on “discrediting the armed forces” against Nikolai Kuzmin, a municipal deputy from the Pskov region, the court has not yet considered his case.
