Boris Vishnevsky requests the Ministry of Internal Affairs to bring those who disseminated false information on Ildar Dadin’s death to responsibility
Head of YABLOKO’s faction in St. Petersburg Legislative Assembly Boris Vishnevsky put an inquiry to the Ministry of Internal Affairs asking to identify the people who disseminated false information that dissident Ildar Dadin “was found hanged in his prison cell” and file a criminal case against them.
According to Boris Vishnevsky, such messages were also sent to Dadin’s family including his mother Nadezhda Dadina. After receiving the message she was hospitalized immediately suspected of having a stroke.
“I suppose that the actions of those who disseminated misleading information on purpose and sent it to Ildar Dadin’s mother can be regarded as a crime involving a violation of Article 111 of the Criminal code of the Russian Federation on “the deliberate infliction of grievous bodily harm”,” Boris Vishnevsky claims.
Ildar Dadin is the first Russian civil activist convicted under Article 212.1 of the Criminal Code “Repeated violation of the established order of organising or holding meetings and rallies” (212.1 of the Criminal Code) and sentenced to a real imprisonment term of three years. He was convicted for one-person picketing which do not require any permissions from the authorities. International human rights organisation Amnesty International has recognised Ildar Dadin prisoner of conscience.
