Court refused to remove YABLOKO candidate from elections to St.Petersburg Legislative Assembly
Press release, 19.08.2016
Today the St.Petersburg City Court has dismissed a claim demanding to withdraw Sergei Gulyaev, YABLOKO’s candidate for deputy of the St.Petersburg Legislative Assembly, from the elections.
Previously Anatoly Krivenchenko, a candidate for deputy from the Just Russia party, appealed to the court demanding to remove YABLOKO’s Sergei Gulyaev from the elections. Krivenchenko claimed that there was no information on the exact address of the land parcel, which belonged to Gulyaev, in his documents for registration as a candidate.
According to YABLOKO’s nominee, there is no such a requirement to provide the exact address of a land parcel in the law.
“Krivenchenko realises who is his real competitor and that is why he is trying to distract me from the election campaign,” Sergei Gulyaev said.
Anatoly Krivenchenko was not present at the court hearing.
