A criminal case was initiated against an activist of the Tatarstan branch of the Yabloko party under the article on “discrediting” the army. Yabloko announced a fundraiser to pay for the services of a lawyer, and in less than a day the necessary amount was collected.
Zulfiya Sitdikova is an active supporter of Yabloko, helps with the organisation of party events and regularly participates in the actions of writing letters to political prisoners.
On 18 July, police came to Sitdikova’s home, and after a search, they took her for interrogation to the Investigative Committee. There, she was charged with repeated “discrediting” of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. A year ago, Zulfiya was fined for coming to the concert of Oleg Gazmanov, a singer supporting the government’s policies, in a T-shirt with a slogan banned in Russia.
Over the past year, Zulfiya Sitdikova faced four searches (on criminal cases filed against other people inclusive), and her equipment and personal belongings were confiscated.
