The Principles of the Yabloko Party Coalition Policies, 2021
Decision of the Federal Political Committee No. 138 of February 26, 2021, published on March 16, 2021
In accordance with the statement of the 17th Congress of the Party “On the priorities of coalition policies” dated June 17, 2012, and the Decision of the Federal Political Committee of the Party No. 81 dated January 23, 2016, which approved the Principles of the Party’s Coalition Policies, the Russian United Democratic Party Yabloko considers it necessary to once again state clear and transparent Principles of the Party’s Coalition Policies.
- The main goal of a responsible political opposition in Russia is a legitimate change of power through participation in elections and other peaceful and legal political actions leading to a change of the political regime in Russia. We believe that organisation of revolutions and coups, violence and bloodshed are unacceptable and inadmissible methods of political struggle.
- In view of this, our most important task is formation of a truly opposition democratic faction in the State Duma, and nomination of an alternative candidate from democratic forces for the post of President of the Russia.
- The programme and value basis of the coalitions are the Programme and the Political Memorandum of the Yabloko Party.
- We believe that any alliances with Stalinists, nationalists, fascists, racists, imperialists, militarists, xenophobes and other left and right radicals are politically, ideologically and ethically unacceptable.
- A union, which presupposes the liquidation of the Party as an independent political structure is unacceptable for us; it is also impossible for us to cooperate with politicians and organisations that cause reputational damage to the Yabloko Party and oppose the candidates of the Party in the elections.
- We consider the parties United Russia, the Communist Party, A Just Russia, LDPR and the like as the advociates, executors, and instruments for realisation of the course of President Vladimir Putin, and believe them to be our political opponents and will fight against them in the elections.
- When nominating politicians and civil activists as candidates from the Party, we will proceed not only from their support for the provisions of the Political Memorandum of the Yabloko Party, but also from an assessment of their political and social experience, stance and reputation.
- We express our readiness to coordinate and agree on candidates in single-mandate constituencies in the elections to the State Duma of Russia. Our partners in this process may be politicians and civil society activists sharing democratic values and supporting the European way of Russia. This process should be open to the public. The negotiations should start immediately after the registration of candidates running for the State Duma in single-mandate constituencies.
- These principles equally apply in the elections of deputies of legislative (representative) bodies of the state power of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation and local self-government bodies, as well as senior officials of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation and bodies of local self-government. Regional and local unions and coalitions with the participation of Yabloko are created in agreement with the federal governing bodies of the Party.
- We also consider it important to cooperate and interact with other political parties and civil organisations in matters of joint control over elections, participation in the work of electoral commissions, organisation of general democratic public events and other forms of control over the activities of the authorities.
