Yavlinsky on Shlosberg’s case: “Political violence will sooner or later lead to total violence”
Statement by Grigory Yavlinsky, 25.09.2015
The deprivation of Lev Shlosberg’s deputy status in the Pskov Regional Assembly on the invented and by far politically motivated grounds is the political mopping up with the person who has been fighting for the prosperity of his region, for the honour and dignity of the Russian military men both alive and fallen, for the right of the citizens to have a dignified life in Russia with all his activities, every step, every statement and every newspaper article.
This mopping up gives evidence of the state of things in Russia: the hate campaign against honest people is growing stronger, the selective use of law is becoming a baton, by its means on can with impunity flout anyone who dare to have their own point of view.
Last year Lev Shlosberg was prevented from participation in the gubernatorial elections, after that he was severaly beaten and the campaign of discredit and humiliation was started against him by the federal TV channels… They failed to achieve their goal – they did not manage to intimidate Shlosberg! On the contrary, Lev Shlosberg and his colleagues carried a great election campaign for September municipal elections.
And now being afraid of Shlosberg they deprived him of the mandate beside the criminal story of Kashin vs Turchak.
No doubt that the federal authorities approved of the mopping up with distinguished and unwanted Lev Shlosberg.
Political violence is exactly what is taking place now, sooner or later it will lead to the total violence. It is the way to the downfall.
I express respect and solidarity with Chair of the Pskov branch of YABLOKO Lev Shlosberg!
