YABLOKO’s candidate in the past election dismissed from his post in Pskov State University
Igor Skoptsev, YABLOKO candidate in the past election, was dismissed from his post of senior departmental assistant of the informatics in Pskov State University. The dismissal took place after a resident of Velikiye Luki city complained to Governor Turchak via his web-site that “a person continuously criticising the Governor and the authorities is still working in the university”.
“After the complaint emerged, Vsevolov Kozlovsky [from the ruling United Russia party and deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Pskov Region] came to our university. After his visit head of our affiliate office approached me and asked whether I wanted to lose part of my wage. He had warned me of this several times already as he had been dissatisfied with my activism. [Igor Skoptsev fought against violations in construction norms in Noviye Luky city and criticized local authorities also as YABLOKO candidate]. I video recorded the conversation, as I realised what they were aiming at. They promptly dismissed me from the post of senior departmental assistant and informed me that may quickly deprive me of my teaching hours. I understand that it is not for the heads of Velykiye Luky to decide and will not stop my activism,” Skoptsev said.
