YABLOKO paid tribute to the victims of acts of terror in Burssels

YABLOKO leaders and activists brought flowers to the building of the Embassy of Belgium in Moscow. Emilia Slabunova and Grigory Yavlinsky left records in the book of condolences, and also met with the staff of the diplomatic mission to say the words of sympathy and support.
YABLOKO Chair Emilia Slabunova said that “such global problem as international terrorism does not select people as of their nationality – absolutely all may become victims.”
“The society can overcome this evil only with joint efforts. Everyone should understand how important it is to unite the efforts so that to coordinate the actions in order to put a barrier in the way of terrorists,” Slabunova stressed.
Grigory Yavlinsky, Chair of YABLOKO Federal Political Committee who also came to the Embassy said, “We are here because we want to express our most sincere condolences to the people who have lost their loved ones, those who were seriously wounded, and there are many of them, hundreds of people.” He stressed that Russia as a country “suffered many times from acts of terror”, and its people like no one else know the price of the killing of innocent unarmed civilians for political purposes.
“Such political goals aim at deprivation of people of human dignity, freedom and the right to live as they want. We express our solidarity with the citizens of Europe, with Belgian citizens and will do our best so that to counter terrorism with our joint efforts,” he said.
Three terrorist attacks took place in the capital of Belgium, yesterday: two at the Brussels international airport and one at the Maelbeek metro station. The acts of terror took the lives of 32 people, about 250 were wounded.
