Chairman of the Yabloko party Nikolai Rybakov visited Khabarovsk on 2 August within the framework of his election tour in the Far East.
During the visit, Nikolai Rybakov met with participants in the Khabarovsk civil protest. The Yabloko leader talked with the activists for about two hours and answered more than 30 questions. In particular, the head of Yabloko reminded the protesters of the Yabloko’s official position on the long-term protests in Khabarovsk in 2020:
We consider it absolutely unacceptable to suppress civil protests. People should have their legal right to gather in peaceful assemblies without their health and freedom being jeopardised. Our position is that political reform is needed. In particular, it is necessary to prohibit the President from dismissing and appointing interim heads of the Russian Federation regions (governors).
Also Nikolai Rybakov met with city residents and journalists from Moskovsky Komsomolets, Amurpress and DVKHAB.
It should be noted that earlier Nikolay Rybakov visited Vladivostok and seven towns of the Maritime (Primorsky) Territory in the Far East.
