“Nikita Khrushchev. A Leader Outside the System” is a new biography of the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the USSR (1953-1964), written by his great-granddaughter, a world-famous political scientist, professor at the New School in New York. On 17 September, Nina Khrushcheva spoke about the book at the Yabloko party office.
The participants of the meeting were interested in the paradoxes of Nikita Khrushchev’s personality, the motives behind his political decisions, his relationship with Stalin and the state system, as well as the connection between the events described in the book and what is happening in Russia today.
