Yabloko formed factions in city parliaments of Yekaterinburg and Veliky Novgorod
Press release, 10.09.2018
Following the elections on September 9 Yabloko formed factions in city parliaments of Yekaterinburg and Veliky Novgorod.
The party gained 11.08 per cent of votes in the elections to Veliky Novgorod City Duma improving its result by 1.5 per cent in comparison with the elections in 2013.
Chair of regional Yabloko branch Anna Cherepanova and an acting deputy and teacher Ilya Dovgy received the mandates.
Yabloko managed to return to the Yekaterinburg City Duma after a five years break gaining 5.44 per cent of votes. Professor of Ural Federal University Konstantin Kiselyev will represent the party in the city parliament.
“We managed to increase the number of Yabloko’s representatives in regional parliaments. It is very important for us that voters in Veliky Novgorod trust us. The result proves that our deputies work well. We thank the residents of Yekaterinburg for their support and we promise that they will not regret it,” Yabloko Deputy Chair Nikolai Rybakov said.
Yabloko had a chance to pass the five per cent threshold in the elections to the city parliament of Ryazan. A well-known regional journalist Konstantin Smirnov headed the party list. For some reason the electoral commissions added the election results to the “Vibory” automated system late at night many hours after the vote counting had been finished. Nikolai Rybakov filed a complaint in which he demanded that the head of the Federal Election Commission Ella Pamfilova clarify the situation.
Yabloko will compare the reports from election observers with official date and calls upon the voters from other political party to join in the investigation.
