Boris Vishnevsky, Deputy Chairman of Yabloko and leader of the party’s faction in the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg, together with members of the St. Petersburg branch of Yabloko, organised fundraising for the purchase of personal protective equipment for doctors working in St. Petersburg medical institutions.
Residents of St.Petersburg, members and supporters of the party donated more than 416,610 roubles for the purchase of the necessary protective equipment. Thus, 1,900 medical masks, 3,450 pairs of disposable medical gloves, 189 goggles, 80 protective overalls and 60 high boot covers were bought with these funds.
All this was handed to doctors in six different healthcare institutions, in particular, to the Pokrovsky Hospital, St. George’s Hospital, Maternity Hospital No. 16, Children’s Hospice in Toksovo, and two oncology centres.
“Those saving human lives lack personal protective equipment. Yesterday we brought and handed over to doctors in the Pokrovsky hospital 60 suits and 950 pairs of gloves. Many thanks to everyone who donates money to buy what doctors need. We will continue fundraising and providing aid. Join us,” Boris Vishnevsky said.
In the coming days, Yabloko activists will receive another 5,000 medical masks from the factory in Ivanovo. Members of the party’s regional branch continue collecting donations for the purchase of personal protective equipment and will deliver it to St. Petersburg doctors.
