The presentation of the collection of articles called “The solutions are in our hands: successful women’s initiatives and campaign” took place in Moscow on December 9. The collection became a result of the international conference “Women’s role in writing a gender agenda for the 21st century” conducted in Moscow on March 20, 2013.  The collection is published both in the Russian and English languages.

The organisers of the event, representatives of public groups, journalists and civil activists made speeches at the presentation.

Activist of YABLOKO Gender faction Maria Yefimova was also present.

“The equal rights and opportunities for men and women are necessary for the creation of a modern democratic state in Russia. YABLOKO is the only Russian party that has a Gender faction and treats the issue of women’s rights seriously.  We stand for the gender examination of the Russian legislation and 40 percent gender quota. But the main thing is that  we do the real work. YABLOKO is a full member of Liberal International and ALDE, we conducted a conference on women’s rights together. President of the ALDE Gender Equality Network Flo Clucas gave a lecture at YABLOKO’s office. Chair of YABLOKO Gender faction Galina Mikhaleva is co-Chair of the Union on Consolidation of Women’s Movement in Russia. We often conduct street actions, pickets and rallies and also publish the magazine called “Sign of Equality” monthly”, said YABLOKO activist.
