Boris Vishnevsky: Reprisals against parliamentary opposition discredit the parliament
Head of Yabloko’s faction in the Legislative Assembly of St.Petersburg Boris Vishnevsky claims that the pressure on the parliamentary opposition is mounting. On 22 March, the ruling United Russia party deputies introduced alternations in the time limit – according to the new rules, an adjournment of a session will be announced only by a majority vote. With this decision, the ruling party acutely prevents the opposition factions from the possibility of taking an adjournment.
“An adjournment by a majority vote means an adjournment by the decision of United Russia. It is clear that they fill give the permission only to themselves and, maybe, to LDPR,” Vishnevsky says.
Vishnevky claims that the reprisal against opposition damage the reputation of the St.Petersburg parliament.
