Thousands march in Moscow in memory of Boris Nemtsov
27 February marked one year since the murder of former PARNAS leader Boris Nemtsov. Thousands marched in Moscow on Saturday to honour the Russian opposition leader. ALDE Party member parties PARNAS and YABLOKO actively took part in the commemoration.
PARNAS’ leader Mikhail Kasyanov participated in the demonstration and later laid flowers on Bolshoy Moskvoretsky Bridge in Moscow, where Boris Nemtsov was shot dead on 27 February 2015.

YABLOKO’s Chairperson Emilia Slabunova, Deputy Chairperson Alexander Gnezdilov, members of the Federal Political Committee Grigory Yavlinsky, Sergei Mitrokhin, Victor Sheinis, Lev Shlosberg and party representatives from Saratov, Ivanovo, Samara, Irkutsk and other regions of Russia arrived from YABLOKO Congress to participate in the demonstration. YABLOKO members also laid flowers in the memory of Boris Nemtsov. Read more on YABLOKO’s website.
YABLOKO Congress delegates also commemorated the Russian opposition leader with a minute of silence during the opening of their party Congress in New Moscow.
In addition to Moscow, many other marches in memory of the Russian opposition leader took place in cities like Berlin, London, New York, Warsaw, Rome and Vilnius. See here the full list of cities.
