According to Novaya Gazeta, the police dragged a handcuffed woman out of the building of the Multifunctional Public Services Centre on the asphalt and left her lying in the street unconscious before taking her to the police station. However, the woman told to the police officers that her daughter was waiting for her in the car.
Obviously, the police violated not only moral norms, but also the norms of the Law “On Police”, which states that “the police carry out their activities on the basis of observance and respect for human and civil rights and freedoms”. A person taking off the mask remains human even in the midst of an epidemic.
However, according to Novaya Gazeta, reports were drawn up against the woman for her violation of the requirements of a high alert regime during the epidemic and disobeying a police officer. However, it is clear from the video recording of the incident that the actions of the woman were caused by the disproportionately harsh behaviour of the police, who directly threatened the health and life of both the woman and her daughter, who was left alone in the car. However, according to the Law “On Police”, police officers “are prohibited from resorting to torture, violence, and other cruel or degrading treatment”.
Therefore, the Yabloko faction demands an investigation into the actions of these police officers. Corresponding letters demanding to conduct an inspection were sent to Andrei Strizhov, the head of the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in Moscow, Denis Popov, Public Prosecutor of Moscow, and Oleg Baranov, head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for Moscow.
Earlier it was reported that the Main Controlling Department of Moscow had not fine Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin for the violation of the mask regime, as demanded by the Yabloko Anti-Corruption Policy Centre.
