The Supreme Court to examine YABLOKO’s appeal against the refusal to abrogate the results of the State Duma elections
Press Release, 13.03.2017
The Board of Appeals of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation will examine YABLOKO’s appeal against the refusal (in November 2016) of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation to abrogate the results of the State Duma elections that took place on the 18the of September, 2016. The hearing will take place in Room No 4038 tomorrow, on the 14th of March, at 10:00 a.m.
YABLOKO’s lawyers will appeal against the Supreme Court’s refusal to demand the evidence, including the registers for the issuance of copies of protocols at a number of polling stations in Dagestan, the prosecutor’s order for violations in St. Petersburg, and video recordings from polling stations in St. Petersburg, Tatarstan, Bashkiria and other evidence.
“All our petitions to claim the evidence were declined. This violates our right to defence,” says Alexei Suzyumov, YABLOKO lawyer representing the interests of the party in the Supreme Court.
The YABLOKO party did not recognize the results of the recent elections to the State Duma. Violations and shortcomings of the organisation of the elections on behalf of electoral commissions did not allow to establish the real will of the voters, as stated in the lawsuit YABLOKO filed to the Supreme Court. YABLOKO continues collecting evidence of fraud in the past elections.
