The Nizhny Novgorod branch of Yabloko has published an open letter to the Governor with a request to give a permission for the March of Memory of Boris Nemtsov
Press Release, 4.02.2020
The organisers of the march in memory of murdered opposition politician Boris Nemtsov in Nizhny Novgorod sent an open letter to Gleb Nikitin, Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, with a request to assist in getting a permission for the event.
“The administration considered that the march in memory of the murdered first Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region has no cultural content. We believe that this is a reply without any real answer, and on 28 January we filed a second application for the event, adding there laying flowers at the memorial to Boris Nemtsov and a concert programme on Theatre Square,” the letter runs.
The Nizhny Novgorod regional branch of the Yabloko party calls all citizens cherishing the memory of Boris Nemtsov to put their signatures under the letter. The letter can be signed through filling out a special form.
Earlier, the city administration had already refused to give a permission to the March in Memory of Boris Nemtsov event in Bolshaya Pokrovskaya Street.
Politician and statesman Boris Nemtsov was shot dead while crossing the Bolshoy Moskvoretsky Bridge in Moscow, by the Kremlin walls, on 27 February, 2015. The Yabloko party annually takes part in the actions in memory of the murdered politician throughout the country.
