Sergei Dustin, member of the Kaliningrad branch of Yabloko, picketed the Kaliningrad Oblast Public Prosecutor’s Office with a placard “Does Baltiysk need a blind Public Prosecutor?” The activist called on the supervisory authority to pay attention to the inaction of Dmitry Prokhorov, Public Prosecutor of the city of Baltiysk.
Earlier, Sergei Dustin appealed to the Public Prosecutor of Baltiysk with a request to check the legality of allocation of several land plots, in particular, on the coast of the Baltic Sea for capital construction. The activist suspected manipulations with urban land for subsequent privatisation and resale.
In addition, Sergei Dustin asked the Public Prosecutor of Baltiysk to check the possible violation of the anti-corruption legislation by Mayor Nikolai Plyugin, who could at the same time be a co-founder of the commercial structure.
Dustin noted that Public Prosecutor of Baltiysk sent him non-committal replies instead of actually checking the information about a possible violation of the law.
On ending his one-person picket, Sergei Dustin was invited to the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Kaliningrad region and his application on the inaction of the city Public Prosecutor was accepted by the regional Public Prosecutor.
Sergei Dustin, a resident of Baltiysk and member of the Yabloko party, have been actively helping the residents of his city to defend their rights to a comfortable environment and fair legal proceedings. During his public activities, Sergei Dustin was repeatedly subjected to pressure, in particular, they tried to deprive him of his means of living.
