The Chelyabinsk branch of Yabloko organised an excursion along the last route of the victims of Stalin’s repressions

On the eve of the Day of Remembrance for Victims of Political Repression, the Chelyabinsk branch of Yabloko organised an excursion in memory of victims of Stalinist repression in Chelyabinsk, who were shot in 1938 allegedly for counter-revolutionary activities and were rehabilitated in the 1950-1960s.
The names of political prisoners whom the excursion was devoted to:
Andrei Kondradt, foreman of the carbon electrode workshop at the Chelyabansk Electro-Metallurgical Plant;
Nikolai Kushnov, manager of the Chelyabmestpromstroy trust;
Nikolai Sheludyakov, photographer at the club of the ferroalloy plant in Chelyabinsk.
The excursion programme:
The last address: Rossiyskaya street, 45 (formerly Stalin street)
Execution room (Elkin street 34)
The village of Shershn and the memorial mass grave cemetery “Golden Mountain”
The excursion was led by local historian Yuri Latyshev.
The excursion told about the last journey of the repressed from their place of residence through the execution chamber to the burial place; about new locations of identified burial places of the repressed in the village of Shershni; about the execution chambers on the Elkin street, some of which have survived to this day; about the fate of the Golden Mountain memorial.
