The Bashkirian branch of Yabloko went on pickets on Human Rights Day
Press Release, 11.12.2019
On December 10, the Bashkirian branch of Yabloko held a series of on-person pickets (that do not require coordination with the authorities) in defense of human rights.
Yabloko activists held posters: “The Yabloko Party: freedom for political prisoners!”, “I and the Yabloko Party are against raising the retirement age”, as well as a poster with a local environmental theme in defense of Kushtau Hill from the development by the Bashkir Soda Company: “Let us defend the Hill of Kushtau. Off from Kushtau!”.
The Altai branch of Yabloko also went on one-person pickets on Human Rights Day demanding from the authorities to respect the Russian Constitution and release political prisoners.
It should be noted that on 10 December, the international community celebrates Human Rights Day. On this day in 1948, the UN General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
