The Altai branch of Yabloko celebrates Human Rights Day with a series of single-person pickets

The Altai branch of Yabloko went on one-person pickets (that do not require coordination with the authorities) on Human Rights Day demanding from the authorities to respect the Russian Constitution and release political prisoners.

Pickets were held near the government building of the Altai Territory in Barnaul, opposite the windows of the office of the Chief Federal Inspector of the Office of the Plenipotentiary of the President of the Russian Federation in the Siberian Federal District.

Alexandr Goncharenko, leader of the regional branch of the party, started the series of single pickets, he was replaced by Konstantin Kononenko, head of the youth fraction, then businessmen Alexey Fomin, Nikolai Fedenev and Yuri Ilyinykh got into the pickets, and then student Ilya Lazarev closed the pickets.

“The Governor and the Federal Inspector did not come to us, but policemen who apparently first learned about Human Rights Day showed curiosity and that there are more than 300 political prisoners in Russia,” Alexander Goncharenko said.

It should be noted that on 10 December, the international community celebrates Human Rights Day. On this day in 1948, the UN General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
