The authorities do not allow YABLOKO to celebrate the Constitution Day on Pushkin Square
The Moscow authorities denied the YABLOKO the permission to conduct a picket to mark the Constitution Day (the 12th of December) in Pushkin Square in the centre of Moscow.
“This is a symbolic denial [of a permission]. Even on the Constitution Day the authorities do not hesitate to violate the Constitution[al right to freedom of assembly] it in a particularly cynical way,” said Sergei Mitrokhin, Chair of the party.
Now YABLOKO activists applied to the Moscow authorities for holding a rally on Triumfalnaya Square.
The picketers will come with placards mentioning the articles of the Constitution that are either violated or not implemented at all.
The aim of the action is to demonstrate that almost all the articles of the Constitution referring to the rights and freedoms of citizens are violated and turned inside out.
The picket is scheduled for the 12th of December at 12:00.
