Eleven members of the electoral commission voted for registration, and one abstained. The territorial electoral commission did not have any new complaints about the documents submitted for the registration by Boris Vishnevsky, Deputy Chairman of the Yabloko party.
Today the St. Petersburg Electoral Commission overturned the decision of Territorial Electoral Commission No 30 to deny registration to Boris Vishnevsky. In connection with this, the Territorial Electoral Commission had to hold a new meeting on the registration of Boris Vishnevsky as a candidate for the election of deputies to the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg in single-mandate constituency No 2 (the Central District).
“We won this fight. Thank you all who helped and supported. We will fight for the victory of both Yabloko and mine in the constituency,” that is how Boris Vishnevsky commented on the decision of the electoral commission.
In addition, Boris Vishnevsky was registered as a candidate for the State Duma elections in single-mandate constituency No 216 (the Central District of St. Petersburg). He also heads the St.Petersburg part of the Yabloko list of candidates in the elections to the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg.
It should be noted that on 4 August, Territorial Electoral Commission No.30 of St.Petersburg refused to register Boris Vishnevsky, Yabloko Deputy Chairman and head of the Yabloko faction in the St.Petersburg Legislative Assembly, for the election to the St.Petersburg Legislative Assembly in a single-mandate constituency. The Territorial Electoral Commission believed that Vishnevsky presented an “incorrect” document on the decision of the Yabloko Congress on his nomination, as well as an incorrect document on the approval of his candidacy drawn by the Federal Political Committee of the Yabloko party. Today a higher electoral commission, the Electoral Commission of St.Peterburg, canceled this decision and resolved to reconsider the issue of registration of Boris Vishnevsky for the elections.
