Sverdlovsk region branch of YABLOKO protests against demolition of Buddhist monastery

On 10 February, Yuri Pereverzev, Chairman of the Sverdlovsk Region branch of YABLOKO filed a written inquiry to Eugeny Kuashev, Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region. YABLOKO expressed protest against the demolition of Buddhist monastery Shad Tchup Ling in Kachkanar city, the Sverdlovsk Region.
According to YABLOKO, the demolition of the monastery is unacceptable. The authorities claim that the construction has no legal status and plan to pull it down until 1 March.
The Sverdlovsk region branch of the YABLOKO party claims that no legal chicaneries can raise a question of the demolition of a cult place of one of the most ancient religions.
YABLOKO insists that some compromise must be reached in order to avoid the demolition of Buddhist monastery Shad Tchup Ling.
