Press Release, 18.10.2014
Grigory Yavlinsky’s advisor Semyon Burd collected 24807 signatures against closure of the children’s hospital in the Izmaylovo district, Moscow, and fawarded them to the Presidential Administration.
The reorganization of medical settings takes place in Moscow actively. The Izmaylovo children’s hospital is planned to be made a branch of the Morozvskaya children’s hospital. Several hospital departments including the only children’s haematological centre in Moscow have been closed already as part of the reform.
Semyon Burd explained that “no alternative has been proposed. The highly skilled doctors formally left of their own accord and found jobs at private hospitals or retired”.
In April YABLOKO conducted a rally against reorganization of hospitals. The signature collection against the closure of the Izmaylovo children’s hospital had been opened and 24807 signatures had been collected within four months.
Earlier Semyonov Burd had forwarded the signatures to the Moscow City Health Department, Ministry of health and Prosecutor’s office but received only formal replies.
