Mobbing of Andrei Makarevich is fascism
Statement by the YABLOKO party, 18.08.2014
The rabid mobbing of Andrei Makarevich [Russian rock star, frontman of the decades-old band Mashina Vremeni (Time Machine)], who had given a concert for the children of refugees in Svyatogorsk (the Donetsk region), spreads through the channels of totalitarian propaganda: with absurd accusations, lies, unlawful demands to deprive him of the state awards.
All this reminds not only of Joseph Stalin’s but of Adolf Hitler’s methods. Making up fascism within the Ukrainian authorities out of thin air itself is in Joseph Goebbels’ style: “the more absurd the lie is the more likely people will believe in it”. The harassment of a well-known and popular singer is also from a fascist state arsenal which consider that cultural workers should work for Reich.
It’s no coincidence that the former irreconcilable oppositionist Eduard Limonov, who has finally showed his national-Bolshevik gut as we’ve predicted, joined the chorus of dependent mass media and a number of especially eager deputies who use the occasion to apple-polish their bosses.
Russia’s political elite sparkles the atmosphere of aggression within the country on purpose. They don’t remember the history of the XX century and learned nothing from it. Mass reprisals which inevitably come out of mass psychosis don’t make and difference between the loyal and disloyal, they hit both the society and elite without distinction to frighten everybody.
So, the people like Fedorov (the State Duma deputy from the ruling United Russia party) and Limonov are wrong when they think they dig a grave for sum mythic enemies of Russia. They dig it for themselves as well.
We are sure that in the future history public informers will be covered with shame as well as Stalin’s and Hitler’s cads of the XX century.

YABLOKO Chairman
