At night of August 23, Natalya Romanuk, leader of the Ust-Labinsk branch of YABLOKO, Krasnodar Territory, had suffered an attempt against her life. Her car was severely hit on a highway by a black car. By a lucky chance the woman managed to avoid a collision with a car ahead and wasn’t badly injured. Candidate for Moscow Mayor Sergei Mitrokhin sent an appeal to the Investigative Committee demanding to make an inspection and bring a criminal case against the forcible merger of schools No 363 and No 1294 in the Bogorodskoye district. At Thursday, August 22, Petrozavodsk City Court annulled the decision of the Electoral Commission on registration of Emiliya Slabunova, YABLOKO’s candidate for the Mayor of Petrozavodsk, the Republic of Karelia. Emiliya Slabunova is also member of the Legislative Assembly of the Republic of Karelia and member of YABLOKO’s Political Committee. Human rights activists have appealed to the Russian intelligentsia calling that latter to intervene with all available means and pacify the anti-migrant hysteria associated with the Moscow mayoral elections. Lydia Grafova, journalist and one of the authors of the appeal, in her interview at the Echo Moskvi radio station noted that there was only one candidate for the Mayor of Moscow – Sergei Mitrokhin – who did not say that migrants represented a big danger or a curse. Picket “For Fair Elections” was held in Petrozavodsk today. Petrozavodsk residents came to defend their right to have a choice which they may be deprived of. In our previous publications we wrote that Vera Parfyonova, candidate from the YABLOKO party, was withdrawn from the elections of the head of Prionezhsky District on formal grounds. Sergei Kolosovsky, lawyer of the Sverdlovsk Region YABLOKO leader Maxim Petlin, intends to appeal today’s decision of the Supreme Court to uphold the verdict for Maxim Petlin on the so-called “bribe case” launched against Petlin in the cause of his anti-corruption activities in the region.
