YABLOKO protested against illegal constructions in the Yasenyovo district, Moscow. YABLOKO leader Sergei Mitrokhin took part in the rally. The residents of the district demanded to stop the construction of all contentious building sites around their apartment blocks until the land survey is conducted and also to dismiss the heads of the South-West Administrative District prefecture and the Yasenyovo Council, who bear responsibility for the lawlessness in the district. YABLOKO leader promised to send an appeal to the Investigative Committee demanding to investigate the implication of the local authorities in corrupt practices.

The Constitution of the Russian Federation may be amended as the word ‘Orthodox Christianity’ may be included in the main law of Russia. Deputy of the State Duma, head of the Committee on Family, Women and Children Elena Mizulina proposed to include the words that “Orthodox Christianity is the basis of Russia’s national and cultural identity” in the Constitution. Imprisoned human rights activist Prof. Mikhail Savva who is now under trial in Krasnodar told YABLOKO leader Sergei Mitrokhin that convicted residents of the Krasnodar Territory falling under release on parole or amnesty could be released only after the Sochi Olympic Games. Prof. Savva got this information from his source in the remand prison.
