The Russian government have been discussing the initiative of extension of the retirement age for a long time. This way the Minister of Finance Anton Siluanov proposed to decrease budget burden. Head of the Russian industrialists and entrepreneurs union Alexandr Shokhin claimed both men and women should retire at the age of 60[now women retire at the age of 55]. But you will say that Vladimir Putin and Dmitry Medvedev disapproved of this reform. Yes, Putin promised that there won’t be amendments to the Constitution, promised to increase GPD by two times by 2008 and claimed that the Crimea was the internal matter of Ukraine. Read more »

Moscow Youth YABLOKO activist attacked during an action of protest

Moscow Youth YABLOKO conducted a series of one-person pickets against the new arrests in connection with the Bolotnaya Square rally case, searches in the YABLOKO office and the flats of civil activists, toughening the legislation and strengthening the TV propaganda. The action which was held in the style of surrealist Rene Magritte was conducted at Tverskaya Street, Moscow. Chair of Moscow Youth YABLOKO Oleg Naumov was attacked by an unknown man who accused the activists of being spies and wanting “the American scenario”. He also tore the banner.

For the first time since foundation of the party there was a search in the party Moscow headquarters – and in connection with the events taking place 18 months ago. In November 2012 Andrei Rudomakha, a well-known environmentalist in the Krasnodar Territory and YABLOKO activist, was arrested for several days. A party press release quoted his comment on this, he allegedly had called a judge “a travesty of justice”. Read more »

YABLOKO’s Moscow headquarters searched

Investigators have just completed a search in the Moscow headquarters of the YABLOKO party and took away a personal computer. The search was conducted within a criminal case raised under Article 298.1 of the Criminal Code “Slander Against the Judge”. The case was initiated against the Andrei Rudomakha, ex-Chair of the Krasnodar branch of YABLOKO. Sergei Mitrokhin was brought into the case as a witness and interrogated yesterday.

The reason for this was his support of Putin’s policy and participation in the “Committee for the Russian spring in the Kirov region” which was founded to “support the people of Eastern Ukraine who carry national liberation struggle against the neo-fascist Kyiv junta”.
