Statement by the Moscow branch of the YABLOKO party
On November 24, 2014, [the authorities] announced public hearings on “The project [for] area planning in Mnevnikovskaya floodplain” which is part of the natural protection zone “Natural-Historical Park Moskvoretsky”. The project envisages construction of the Parliamentary Centre for the Federal Assembly of Russia. The fact that such hearings were announced demonstrates that the authorities gave the project a “green light”. Read more »

St.Petersburg Legislative Assembly refused to support Ekho Moskvy

Deputies of St.Petersburg Legislative Assembly refused to include the appeal to Minister of Communications and the Media Nikolai Nikiforiv in support of the Ekho Moskvy radio station in the agenda. The appeal was introduced by YABLOKO’s Boris Vishnevsky and a Just Russia deputy Marina Shishkina. Only 14 deputies out of 50 voted for inclusion of the issue in the agenda: all YABLOKO faction deputies, 7 deputies from Just Russia (out of 12) and 1 deputy from the Communist party (out of 7). In addition to that the “parliamentary majority” refused to request a roll vote. Read more »
