La cour suprême de la république d’Adyguée dans le Nord Caucase russe a décidé le 21 novembre la liquidation de l’ONG écologiste russe Veille écologiste du Caucase du Nord. L’ONG intervient pour la préservation de l’environnement de la région de Krasnodar et de Sotchi dans le Caucase russe. Elle avait alerté l’opinion publique russe et internationale sur les dégâts sur l’environnement et notamment sur la réserve naturelle du Caucase du Nord, classée à l’UNESCO, dus aux constructions pharaoniques et dispendieuses des JO de Sotchi. 1. I and my political supporters are strongly against the present Russia’s policies towards Ukraine: we are against the war between Russia and Ukraine. We do not agree with the annexation of Crimea, and all the present developments in South-East Ukraine are unacceptable for us. We are against the notorious policies of “limited sovereignty”. I would like to stress this especially in Prague, where, since 1968, people better than anywhere else realise what such “limited sovereignty” means. Read more »

YABLOKO commemorated victims of the Great Terror

YABLOKO leaders and activists participated in the annual memorial action commemorating the victims of political reprisals during Stalin’s period. The action was organised by the Memorial human rights group on the threshold of October 30, the Day of Political Prisoners, established in 1974 by Soviet political prisoners who conducted hunger strikes and lit candles in memory of the victims on that day. The action took place near the FSB (former KGB) building at Lubyanka squareby by the Solovetsky stone, the stone brought from the Solovetsky Islands, the location of the Solovki prison camp which was part of the Soviet Gulag system.
