Yabloko Chair Emilia Slabunova sent a request to Governor of the Stavropol Territory Vladimir Vladimirov and the regional prosecutor Anatoly Bogdanchikov calling them to initiate a check of an apartment block at Number 6 Brusneva Ulitsa, Stavropol, which the authorities refuse to declare substandard housing despite its condition. Teacher of the world artistic culture Alexander Demakhin, 32, decided to participate in the forthcoming municipal elections in Sergiyev Posad, the Moscow Region, of 10 September, 2017, as Yabloko’s candidate. He brought the documents to the territorial electoral commission in the end of July. In several days’ time he reported that he had been dismissed from the school because “local authorities disapprove of his participation in the public life of Sergiyev Posad”. Read more »

On July 26-27, Yabloko Chair Emilia Slabunova visited the Republic of North Ossetia to support Yabloko’s list of candidates for the regional parliament. The party collected 2,782 signatures in order to go through the municipal filter. On 26 July, the activists brought the signatures to the regional electoral commission.
A fire broke out at the Central House of the Entrepreneur, where the 35mm cinema is situated. The news was reported by the owners of the cinema. A female employee of the cinema is reported to have been injured but she was rescued by the fire brigade. Read more »

Statement by the Regional Council of the Voronezh branch of Yabloko, 24.07.2017
Civil activist Stanislav Yegorov, 68, was attacked in Voronezh. Three unidentified men burst into his flat and severely beat him with bats at about 4 a.m. on 23 July. Yegorov is at hospital at the moment. He was diagnosed with concussion of the brain as well as fractures of nose, jaw and a leg. Read more »
