Statement by the YABLOKO party, 31.07.2014

The prosedjure of collection of signatures for registration as candidate for governor of the Pskov region finished on July 30.

YABLOKO’s Lev Shlosberg managed to collect 149 signatures out of 157.

The signature collection was taking place place in the conditions of political and phycological pressure on the deputies under complete condonation of the federal authorities.

Taking the situation with the elections in all the regions of Russia into consideration, it’s obvious that the “municipal filter” has become a special and sophisticated method of preventing opposition from participation in the elections.

The so called “return of the gubernatorial elections” is not just a fiction or parody but a way of creation of social tension.

As a result of such “elections” the illegitimate regional regimes will appear and their power will be held by means of lies and political violence.

It’s a complete violation of the Constitution, human rights and freedoms.

The absence of the reaction from the federal authorities shows that they approve of everything that takes place and participate in it.

In addition to the above, during the meeting of the Security Council on July 22 Vladimir Putin mentioned the inadmissibility of Russia’s constitutional system destruction.

In real situation everything is the opposite.

The address to the voters

The elections in the Pskov region are illegitimate without an opposition candidate. All the law violations during the election organisation in the Pskov region should be carefully investigated by prosecutor’s office and the Investigative Committee.

In case the violations are poved, Andrei Turchack should be fired and his power should be terminated as he conduction law violations.
