Novosibirsk Region government assists the ruling United Russia party

The Novosibirsk branch of YABLOKO addressed an appeal against the actions of the regional government, which assists the ruling United Russia party, to the regional election commission.
The Novosibirsk branch of YABLOKO learned about the order which the Department of physical education and sports of the Novosibirsk Region forwarded to head of the office for culture and sports of the Novosibirsk City Hall. In their order the regional government asked the City Hall to secure participation of the residents in “The All-Russia Street Workout Day” organised by the United Russia party. The event is to take place on August 28.
“Such orders contradict the federal legislation,” Alexandra Nalobina, regional YABLOKO leader, explained. According to the law, local government employees cannot assist any political party during the period of an election campaign.
