Today, Alexander Korovainy, a Yabloko party member, was deprived of his deputy powers by the decision of the Council of Deputies of the Yeisk District of the Krasnodar Territory, on the basis of a letter from the head of the regional administration. Also a similar issue will be considered in relation to deputies Yekaterina and Alexander Baturinets in the close perspective.
These three deputies have been the most active representatives of the people in recent years, and enjoy the greatest support and respect of citizens. I am convinced that their persecution results from their tireless work to protect the rights and interests of the residents of the Yeisk region and is caused by political motives.
The current practices, when politicians who are in opposition to the current government are not allowed to work in the representative bodies of power, and deputies whose candidacies were not agreed upon with the regional administrations are deprived of their powers, finally destroy the constitutional principle of the separation of powers, makes popular representation impossible, and undermines the foundations of state power in the Russian Federation.
The Yabloko party declares the inadmissibility of such actions and demands the abolition of politically motivated decisions that are offensive to thousands of voters who cast their votes for the deputies deprived of their powers [by the administration].

Yabloko Chairman
