Yabloko Chairman Nikolai Rybakov visited Rzhev on Friday, August 21. During the stay, he visited the memorable places of the city, met with residents and representatives of the regional branch of the party and took part in a round table.

Nikolai Rybakov began his visit by laying flowers at the memorial complex erected in memory of the soldiers who died near Rzhev in 1942-1943. The memorial was opened about two months ago and attracts about 5,000 visitors every day. During his visit to the complex, the head of Yabloko discussed with representatives of the regional branch the tourist potential of the complex, in particular, the creation of new places to attract tourists and the corresponding infrastructure.

Then Nikolai Rybakov went to the village of Khoroshevo and talked with local residents there. They told him about the problems associated with housing and utilities issues and their disputes with the company managing their houses. Residents also asked Rybakov about the activities of the Yabloko party and its regional branch.

In the afternoon, the Chairman of Yabloko took part in a round table “Protection of Enviroment in the Tver Region. Problems and Ways to Solve Them ”. The discussions at the round table resulted in the decision to create a public environmental council in the city.

After participating in the round table, Nikolai Rybakov met with residents of one of the neighbouring streets. During the meeting, such topics as problems in housing and utilities services and healthcare were discussed, the residents also spoke in favour of returning direct elections. The residents thanked the Yabloko chairman for his firm political stance voiced in the media.

In the evening, a live broadcast was organised for Yabloko Chairman in the studio of the regional branch. During the broadcast Nikolai Rybakov communicated with subscribers of Yabloko channels in the social networks and discussed with them domestic and foreign policies, in particular, the situation with protests in Khabarovsk after the arrest and removal of the elected Governor there and the successes of the Yabloko party in the regions.

After the live broadcast, Nikolai Rybakov met with the activists of the regional branch of the party and thanked them for their active work. “Looking at you, I see that Yabloko has a great future,” the head of Yabloko said. He also gave advice on the activities in the party branch and instructions on how to participate in elections.
