Sergei Mitrokhin, member of YABLOKO Federal Political Committee and Chair of Moscow YABLOKO, forwarded applications to President of Russia, head of the Federal Security Service and Prosecutor General as in response to the offenses towards the Russian opposition on behalf of the head of the Chechen Administration Ramzan Kadyrov.

In his application Sergei Mitrokhin informs that during January 2016, head of the Chechen Administration Ramzan Kadyrov repeatedly expressed accusations to the Russian opposition, both orally and in a written form, and his statements contained such expressions as “traitors”, “enemies of the people” who “play the game invented by Western secret services”; “these people must be brought to court”, “we will not allow this loony rabble” and so on.

Similar statements insulting and threatening the opposition were written on the placards during the rally in support of Ramzan Kadyrov in the city of Grozny, capital of Chechnya.

Mitrokhin claims that these statements and actions justify unlawful actions in respect of a certain social group of population which does not support the political course of the present authorities.

Sergei Mitrokhin demands that head of the Federal Security Service Alexander Bortnikov must file a criminal case under Artcile 280 Part 2 (public calls to extremism) and Artcile 282 Part 2 of the Russian Criminal Code (organisation of activity of an extremist organisation) against head of the Administration of Chechnya and the officials of the Chechen Republic who openly supported him.

Basing on Article 6 of the Federal law No 114-FZ “On Countering Extremist Activity”, Mitrokhin demands that the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation must issue a warning on the inadmissibility of conducting extremist activity, and demands that the President of Russia must take urgent measures to bring those officials who permit expressions of an extremist nature to responsibility.

Last week Sergei Mitrokhin and the two party activits were detained during and action for dismissal of the head of Chechen Administration Ramzan Kadyrov.
