Mitrokhin demands from Sobyanin to preserve a village school
Press Release, August 30, 2013
Candidate for Moscow Mayor Sergei Mitrokhin demanded from the temporary acting mayor Sergei Sobyanin to preserve one of the last village schools in Moscow. School No 740 is situated in the Molzhaninovsky district of Moscow. On August 26 the parents learned that their children will be transferred to another school in the Zelenograd city 15 kilometers away from the place.
School No 740 was closed despite the fact that it was redecorated last summer. The examination of the building after the redecoration was not conducted and the officials referred to the old technical statement which was made before the repair works.
The primary school will work, but there is no central water pipe, canalisation, canteen and gym. According to the parents, all these facilities are in the main school building which will be closed. The parents worry that the way to Zelenograd will take several hours because of the heavy traffic.
Sergei Mitrokhin is determined to conduct a meeting with the teachers and the parents of the students of school No 740 on September 2.
