Press Release, October 17, 2013
Municipal deputy Elena Tkach was beaten during the public hearings on the construction of a new shopping mall in the centre of Moscow and pulling down the two apartment blocks at number 13 and 15 Bolshoy Kozikhinsky Lane in connection with that. The incident was recorded on a video.
A man attacked Elena Tkach. He pushed her from the stage and as a result Elena Tkach hit against an armchair and fell unconscious. Supposedly the man was the representative of the real estate developer.
According to the eyewitnesses, Elena Tkach asked the residents of another district to leave the meeting room as they didn’t have the right to vote. In response to this the “false” residents attracted her and a fight started.
Grani.ru journalist Andrei Novichkov also suffered as physical force was used against him and his work was sabotaged.

Mitrokhin demands to find and bring the guilty to justice.
Sergei Mitrokhin also sent an appeal to Sergei Sobyanin and demanded to conduct the new public hearings and hold them in accordance with the law.
