Lev Shlosberg elected Politician of the Year by the readers of the popular Vedomosti newspaper

Lev Shlosberg, YABLOKO Political Committee member, journalist and ex MP of the Pskov Regional Assembly, has been elected Politician of the Year by the readers of the popular Vedomosti newspaper.
The competitors of Lev Shlosberg were: Russian President Vladimir Putin, Governor of the Irkutsk Region Sergei Levchenko, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras. The paper chose Angela Merkel the Politician of the Year, while the readers chose Lev Shlosberg.
In 2014, Lev Shlosberg, who had been also awarded the The Golden Pen of Russia title, was the first to publish a journalistic investigation on Russia’s losses in Ukraine after which he was severely beaten. In 2015 the Pskov Regional Assembly voted to deprive Lev Shlosberg of his regional MP mandate. Shlosberg as head of YABLOKO regional branch in the Pskov region led YABLOKO to victory to elections of all levels in the region.
