Grigory Yavlinsky proposed to nominate Sergei Mitrokhin candidate for Moscow Mayor in 2018
Kommersant, 16.05.2016
Chair of YABLOKO Federal Political Committee Grigory Yavlinsky proposed to nominate Sergei Mitrokhin, Chair of Moscow YABLOKO, candidate for Moscow Mayor at the elections of 2018. “I think that in 2018, when the elections take place, YABLOKO will participate in them. And we will have a tandem between the candidates – presidential and mayoral. In this case I mean Sergei Mitrokhin’s candidacy,” TASS quoted Yavlinsky, who had been nominated the party candidate at the presidential elections of 2018. According to Yavlinsky, despite the fact that Mitrokhin did not get a very high result [at Moscow Mayoral elections in 2013], he was anyway “far superior to the other candidates”. He recommended the delegates of the Moscow regional conference to re-elect Mitrokhin for the post of Chairman for another two years.
Earlier YABLOKO Anti-Corruption Centre announced that they had discovered “corruption evidence” in state procurement connected with preparation and organisation of the Moscow spring festival. One and the same company “MS plus” has received the state order for organisation of the festival since 2014, and always out of competition. This fact is more than enough to conduct a prosecutor’s check, claims Sergei Mitrokhin, who forwarded an appeal to Moscow Prosecutor and Moscow department of the Federal Anti-monopoly service.
